About Me

Hello World, as Automattic like to say in the default post when you setup a new blog. I’m Nomadd and this is my blog. My little little corner of the internet. I always feel odd writing about myself, and while I know I don’t have to I feel like I should say something about myself and why this blog is here.

Comic styled profile picture of blog Author, Nomadd.

I’ve been blogging on and off since sometime in 2009, perhaps earlier than that. But I can at least track myself back through my WordPress account to late 2009. I know I used a few other platforms before that but most are history at this point.

I consider myself a creative, which is a broad term. Mainly because I have my preferred mediums for creating things, such as photography, video, or even audio. But I also write, draw, paint miniatures, and well I think you can see where this is going. In what I consider stereotypical but not uncommon artistic form I just like to create in one way or another. My art is whatever I’m in the mood for at that moment. But one thing I’ve done with at least some consistency or always come back to is blogging.

Whether I’m talking about life, writing articles about things of interest such as tech or gaming news, sharing my work, or something I found. I’ve always come back to and enjoyed blogging. So here I am once again. I can’t say I have any specific plan for this blog at this point, but the idea is to write, to create, and help keep myself motivated and going through all the ebb & flow changes of my life, whatever they may be. Some of which is the creative block and process, while others are just trying to get by.

I’m also a gamer, being a huge fan of games with lore and great world building. About a year ago I got back into Guild Wars 2, after not playing it for a number of years. I played that since launch, up through the Path of Fire expansion and then stopped mainly due to hardware issues. But I rediscovered that game and world and I’m sure I’ll share that on here.

I also have a podcast, called Xenolore. Which you can find here, or on Spotify. It’s a lore podcast that talks about the lore of the Alien film franchise. Basically all the elements that have been created to build the universe and make it seem more realistic. Whether it’s the history of a company, a persons bio, or even info about technology. Alien is my favorite movie and one of my favorite universes. If having a podcast dedicated to talking about the lore and world that’s been built around it isn’t evident then maybe all the books, posters, maps, etc. I have scattered around my house and office are. Like gaming I’m sure I’ll talk about or share some of that here as well.

Multiple books about Ridley Scott's Alien franchise, the table top RPG, comics, novels, and even blueprint books.
Just a small selection of Alien books and materials I’ve collected over the years. This sits next to my desk in part as regular source & reference material.

I don’t want to take myself or this blog to seriously. It’s not meant to be a job, but something I do to keep my creative mind active, something I can enjoy, and share what’s going on in my world, even if that may be venting about work or just sharing what’s going on in my head. If someone enjoys that, likes a project, or maybe a few of you follow the podcast awesome. If not it’s just an outlet for myself.

Either way, thanks for stopping by. I hope you find something you’ll enjoy here and… Ok no catchy sign-off or tag line… at least not yet.

Thanks for reading!
